Welcome to our home page. Rural Emergency Alliance, Inc. is the parent corporation for Valley Center CERT (VCCERT), Medical ReserveCORPS, and LargeAnimal Safety Team (VCLAST).

 

The VC CERT Holiday Social will be this Thursday December 22, 2011 at the Valley Center Library Seminar Room, 7 pm.
    This will be in place of our regular monthly meeting.
    Sue Ann Benner, head of our Medical Reserve Corps, will be providing refreshments.

General CERT meeting January 26, 2012 7:00-9:00 pm at the Mormon Church (14826 Fruitvale Road).

The general meetings for CERT are usually the 4th Thursday of the month (except Thanksgiving).

 

MISSION STATEMENT

To sponsor individual emergency preparedness within the rural and tribal community of San Diego County through training and drills; and, to establish local emergency networks for support and aid in time of disaster.

Family CERT Academy Classes:

Classes 1 thru 6, and optional 7 & 8 are on consecutive Tuesdays

The finalclass and drill is the Saturday following the last Tues. class.

Family Academy 3: Oct. 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6 (details)

All classes are held at the LDS Church Building, 14826 Fruitvale Rd, Valley

Center from 6:30 PM to 9:00pm on consecutive Tuesdays, with the exception of the Saturday sessions.

which run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM   and whose locations will be announced.

Academy 3: Oct. 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6 (details)

Class 1 Disaster Preparedness

Class 2 Fire Safety.

Class3 Treating Life Threatening Conditions, Proper Search Techniques, Performing Triage.

Class 4 Rescue Operations, Medical Treatment, Head to Toe evaluation

Class 5 Disaster Psychology, CERT Organization

Class 6   Terrorism and Radio Communication

Optional Class 7 Wildland - Urban Interface Fire Safety.

Optional Class 8 CERT ‘s role in Animal Emergencies.

(Saturday session) Class review, followed by a Disaster Simulation drill (this is your graduation drill), followed by a debriefing session.


 Class Schedule

Final class and drill is the Saturday following the last Tues. class (Dec 10).

All persons taking the classes will receive a Certificate of Completion of CERT Training.

For Valley Center residents, those completing the sequence CAN receive a County-issued Disaster Service Worker card and join the Team if you so desire.
